Tóm tắt	This book is a multi-authored, multi-institutional discussion of this rare group of tumors, representing a variety of views and treatment philosophies. It is intended to be of particular value to clinician, but the book also contains new and in-depth information on the biology, pathology, and staging of these tumors. The volume is uniquely comprehensive since it examines not only sarcomas of the extremities, but also those arising in other soft tissues such as the breast, heart, great vessels, gastrointestinal tract, and genitourinary system. Current knowledge regarding the cytogenetics and molecular biology of sarcomas is summarized in chapter 1. The remainder of the book is divided into five sessions. Section 1 concerns methods of diagnosis, pathology, and staging. In section 2, specific sarcomas and anatomic sites are presented. Section 3 through 5 contain discussions of treatment approaches using surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy respectively, focusing throughout on multidisciplinary integration of the different modalities.
