Tóm tắt The goal of this volume will serve the orthopaedic resident in training as well as the practicing orthopaedists, and contribute to the maintainance of a high standard of fracture care for children. This volume with major emphasis has been placed on how children`s fractures differ from those in the adult. In each chapter there is considerable discussion on how the anatomical and physiologic properties of growing bone relate to the mechanism of specific musculoskeletal injuries in children; on how unique pathologic conditions of children`s orthopaedics affect the reaction of the musculoskeletal system to physical stress. The differences in treatment of the specific patterns in children are outlined. Finally, a special effort has been made to address the overlooked fractures or dislocation that is seen late, for these puzzling problems are in need of constant clarification.
